Lyrics - Stranger - Hillary Duff

Nobody believes me when I tell them that you're out of your mind!
Nobody believes me when I tell them that there's so much you hide
You treat me like a queen when we go out,
wanna show everyone what our love's about
All wrapped up in me whenever there is a crowd
But when no ones around

Theres no kindness in your eyes
The way you look at me, it's just not right
I can tell whats going on this time
Theres a stranger in my life
You're not the person that I once knew
Are you scared to let them know it's you?
If they could only see you like I do
Then they would see a stranger too

Did I ever do anything that was this cruel to you?
Did I ever make you wonder who was standing in the room?
You made yourself look perfect in everyway
So when this goes down, I'm the one that will be blamed
Your plan is working so you can just walk away
Baby your secret's safe

Theres no kindness in your eyes
The way you look at me, it's just not right
I can tell whats going on this time
Theres a stranger in my life
You're not the person that I once knew
Are you scared to let 'em know it's you?
If they could only see you like I do
Then they would see a stranger too

Such a long way back, from this place we're at
When I think of all the time I've wasted, I could cry

Theres no kindness in your eyes
The way you look at me, it's just not right
I can tell whats going on this time
Theres a stranger in my life
You're not the person that I once knew
Are you scared to let 'em know it's you?
If they could only see you like I do
Then they would see a stranger too

Theres no kindness in your eyes
The way you look at me, it's just not right
I can tell whats going on this time
Theres a stranger in my life
You're not the person I once knew
Are you scared to let 'em know it's you?
If they could only see you like I do
Then they would see a stranger too

Quantum Secrets Of Photosynthesis Revealed

இன்னும் ஒரு பதிவு குவாண்டம் பற்றி. எனக்கு இதைப் பற்றிய ஆர்வம் ஒவ்வொரு முறையும் அதிகரித்துக் கொண்டே வருகிறது.

Science Daily — Through photosynthesis, green plants and cyanobacteria are able to transfer sunlight energy to molecular reaction centers for conversion into chemical energy with nearly 100-percent efficiency. Speed is the key – the transfer of the solar energy takes place almost instantaneously so little energy is wasted as heat. How photosynthesis achieves this near instantaneous energy transfer is a long-standing mystery that may have finally been solved.

(Credit: Greg Engel, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Physical Biociences Division)

A study led by researchers with the U.S. Department of Energy’s Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab) and the University of California (UC) at Berkeley reports that the answer lies in quantum mechanical effects. Results of the study are presented in the April 12, 2007 issue of the journal Nature.

“We have obtained the first direct evidence that remarkably long-lived wavelike electronic quantum coherence plays an important part in energy transfer processes during photosynthesis,” said Graham Fleming, the principal investigator for the study. “This wavelike characteristic can explain the extreme efficiency of the energy transfer because it enables the system to simultaneously sample all the potential energy pathways and choose the most efficient one.”

Fleming is the Deputy Director of Berkeley Lab, a professor of chemistry at UC Berkeley, and an internationally acclaimed leader in spectroscopic studies of the photosynthetic process. In a paper entitled, Evidence for wavelike energy transfer through quantum coherence in photosynthetic systems, he and his collaborators report the detection of “quantum beating” signals, coherent electronic oscillations in both donor and acceptor molecules, generated by light-induced energy excitations, like the ripples formed when stones are tossed into a pond.

Electronic spectroscopy measurements made on a femtosecond (millionths of a billionth of a second) time-scale showed these oscillations meeting and interfering constructively, forming wavelike motions of energy (superposition states) that can explore all potential energy pathways simultaneously and reversibly, meaning they can retreat from wrong pathways with no penalty. This finding contradicts the classical description of the photosynthetic energy transfer process as one in which excitation energy hops from light-capturing pigment molecules to reaction center molecules step-by-step down the molecular energy ladder.

“The classical hopping description of the energy transfer process is both inadequate and inaccurate,” said Fleming. “It gives the wrong picture of how the process actually works, and misses a crucial aspect of the reason for the wonderful efficiency.”

Co-authoring the Nature paper with Fleming were Gregory Engel, who was first author, Tessa Calhoun, Elizabeth Read, Tae-Kyu Ahn, Tomáš Man al and Yuan-Chung Cheng, all of whom held joint appointments with Berkeley Lab’s Physical Biosciences Division and the UC Berkeley Chemistry Department at the time of the study, plus Robert Blankenship, from the Washington University in St. Louis.

The photosynthetic technique for transferring energy from one molecular system to another should make any short-list of Mother Nature’s spectacular accomplishments. If we can learn enough to emulate this process, we might be able to create artificial versions of photosynthesis that would help us effectively tap into the sun as a clean, efficient, sustainable and carbon-neutral source of energy.

Towards this end, Fleming and his research group have developed a technique called two-dimensional electronic spectroscopy that enables them to follow the flow of light-induced excitation energy through molecular complexes with femtosecond temporal resolution. The technique involves sequentially flashing a sample with femtosecond pulses of light from three laser beams. A fourth beam is used as a local oscillator to amplify and detect the resulting spectroscopic signals as the excitation energy from the laser lights is transferred from one molecule to the next. (The excitation energy changes the way each molecule absorbs and emits light.)

Fleming has compared 2-D electronic spectroscopy to the technique used in the early super-heterodyne radios, where an incoming high frequency radio signal was converted by an oscillator to a lower frequency for more controllable amplification and better reception. In the case of 2-D electronic spectroscopy, scientists can track the transfer of energy between molecules that are coupled (connected) through their electronic and vibrational states in any photoactive system, macromolecular assembly or nanostructure.

Fleming and his group first described 2-D electronic spectroscopy in a 2005 Nature paper, when they used the technique to observe electronic couplings in the Fenna-Matthews-Olson (FMO) photosynthetic light-harvesting protein, a molecular complex in green sulphur bacteria.

Said Engel, “The 2005 paper was the first biological application of this technique, now we have used 2-D electronic spectroscopy to discover a new phenomenon in photosynthetic systems. While the possibility that photosynthetic energy transfer might involve quantum oscillations was first suggested more than 70 years ago, the wavelike motion of excitation energy had never been observed until now.”

As in the 2005 paper, the FMO protein was again the target. FMO is considered a model system for studying photosynthetic energy transfer because it consists of only seven pigment molecules and its chemistry has been well characterized.

“To observe the quantum beats, 2-D spectra were taken at 33 population times, ranging from 0 to 660 femtoseconds,” said Engel. “In these spectra, the lowest-energy exciton (a bound electron-hole pair formed when an incoming photon boosts an electron out of the valence energy band into the conduction band) gives rise to a diagonal peak near 825 nanometers that clearly oscillates. The associated cross-peak amplitude also appears to oscillate. Surprisingly, this quantum beating lasted the entire 660 femtoseconds.”

Engel said the duration of the quantum beating signals was unexpected because the general scientific assumption had been that the electronic coherences responsible for such oscillations are rapidly destroyed.

“For this reason, the transfer of electronic coherence between excitons during relaxation has usually been ignored,” Engel said. “By demonstrating that the energy transfer process does involve electronic coherence and that this coherence is much stronger than we would ever have expected, we have shown that the process can be much more efficient than the classical view could explain. However, we still don’t know to what degree photosynthesis benefits from these quantum effects.”

Engel said one of the next steps for the Fleming group in this line of research will be to look at the effects of temperature changes on the photosynthetic energy transfer process. The results for this latest paper in Nature were obtained from FMO complexes kept at 77 Kelvin. The group will also be looking at broader bandwidths of energy using different colors of light pulses to map out everything that is going on, not just energy transfer. Ultimately, the idea is to gain a much better understanding how Nature not only transfers energy from one molecular system to another, but is also able to convert it into useful forms.

“Nature has had about 2.7 billion years to perfect photosynthesis, so there are huge lessons that remain for us to learn,” Engel said. “The results we’re reporting in this latest paper, however, at least give us a new way to think about the design of future artificial photosynthesis systems.”

This research was funded by the U.S. Department of Energy and by the Miller Institute for Basic Research in Sciences.

Drunk women can consent to sex, judges rule

A drunken woman can still consent to sex, the Court of Appeal ruled yesterday.

Three senior judges were giving reasons for clearing a 25-year-old man of raping a student, aged 19, after both had been drinking heavily.

Sir Igor Judge: rape ruling

Sir Igor Judge, sitting with Lady Justice Hallett and Mrs Justice Gloster, said sex would amount to rape if the complainant had lost her capacity to choose as a result of drink.

"However, where the complainant has voluntarily consumed even substantial quantities of alcohol, but nevertheless remains capable of choosing whether or not to have intercourse, and in drink agrees to do so, this would not be rape," he said.

The judges could not set a level of alcohol consumption that would negate consent, they explained.

Otherwise, "provisions intended to protect women from sexual assaults might very well be conflated into a system which would provide patronising interference with the right of autonomous adults to make personal decisions for themselves".

Benjamin Bree, a university-educated computer software engineer from Southampton "of excellent previous character", was told after an appeal hearing earlier this month that his rape conviction would be quashed. He had served nearly five months of a five-year sentence.

Criticising the way that Judge Jarvis had summed up the case, the Court of Appeal said the jury's verdict could not be regarded as safe.

Yesterday, the court decided not to order a re-trial. Mr Bree, who was in tears after the ruling, was advised by his lawyers not to speak to reporters.

He was convicted at Bournemouth Crown Court last October of raping a university student who shared a flat with his brother Michael, also a student at Bournemouth university. Michael Bree and his girlfriend, Holly, spent an evening in February last year drinking with Mr Bree and the complainant, identified as M.

She drank two pints of cider and, over the evening, between four and six vodkas. Mr Bree, who had been drinking earlier in the day, drank two pints of lager and then he too moved on to vodka and Red Bull.

The girls walked back to her flat, letting themselves in. But both girls were badly affected by drink. Holly was sick in the kitchen and M was sick in the shower. Mr Bree helped her wash her hair.

M's next memory, she said, was finding herself on the bed. Mr Bree was having sex with her. She told the jury that she had not consented.

After Mr Bree was arrested, he appeared shocked and upset. His case was that, although M may have become less inhibited because she was drunk, she was lucid enough to consent to sex and had done so. Mr Bree told the police that she seemed keen on sex.

At the start of the trial, the prosecution claimed that M was so drunk that she was effectively unconscious. In the light of the evidence, the jury was asked instead to conclude that M did not in fact give her consent. Mr Bree's case was that he reasonably believed she had consented.

Sir Igor, president of the Queen's Bench Division, pointed out that neither Mr Bree nor M had acted unlawfully in drinking to excess. "Both were free, if they wished, to have intercourse with each other," he said.

The question was not whether the alcohol made them less inhibited, nor whether they might have regretted what had happened. Nor was it a question of whether they had behaved irresponsibly.

"The essential question for decision is, as it always is, whether the evidence proved that the appellant had sexual intercourse with the complainant without her consent," he said.

Sir Igor said, that "if, through drink or for any other reason, the complainant has temporarily lost her capacity to choose whether to have intercourse on the relevant occasion, she is not consenting, and subject to questions about the defendant's state of mind, if intercourse takes place, this would be rape.

"However, where the complainant has voluntarily consumed even substantial quantities of alcohol, but nevertheless remains capable of choosing whether or not to have intercourse, and in drink agrees to do so, this would not be rape." The judges concluded that there was a clear definition of consent.

CIA: Bin Laden In Pakistan Establishing New Camps

In the most definitive statement in years, America's top intelligence official said Tuesday Osama bin laden is in Pakistan actively re-establishing al Qaeda training camps.

The newly appointed Director of National Intelligence Jack McConnell made the assertion about bin Laden and his No. 2 man, Ayman al Zawahri, in testimony before the Senate Armed Services Committee.

Referring to Pakistan's rugged tribal area, McConnell said "to the best of our knowledge that the senior leadership, No. 1 and No. 2, are there, and they are attempting to re-establish and rebuild and to establish training camps."

Until now, U.S. intelligence officials had declined to publicly identify, with such certainty, the location of bin Laden although he has long been suspected of hiding in Pakistan near the border with Afghanistan.

McConnell's testimony came the day after the CIA deputy director, Stephen R. Kappes, flew to Pakistan to confront President Pervez Musharaff with "compelling" evidence that new al Qaeda training camps were being established on Pakistani territory.

U.S. officials would not describe the evidence in any detail, but people in the intelligence community have speculated recently that the CIA may have obtained surveillance photos of either bin Laden or Zawahri in Pakistan.

McConnell's public testimony was followed by a closed, secret session with senators.

helium-3 as the perfect fuel source

Researchers and space enthusiasts seehelium 3 as the perfect fuel source: extremely potent, nonpolluting, withvirtually no radioactive by-product. Proponents claim its the fuel ofthe 21st century. The trouble is, hardly any of it is found on Earth. But there is plenty of it on the moon.
Society is straining to keep pace withenergy demands, expected to increase eightfold by 2050 as the world populationswells toward 12 billion. The
moonjust may be the answer.
"Helium 3 fusion energy may be thekey to future space exploration and settlement," said Gerald Kulcinski,Director of the Fusion Technology Institute (FTI) at the University ofWisconsin at Madison.

Scientists estimate there are about1 million tons of helium 3 on the moon, enough to power the world for thousandsof years. The equivalent of a single space shuttle load or roughly 25 tonscould supply the entire United States' energy needs for a year, accordingto Apollo17 astronaut and FTI researcher Harrison Schmitt.

Cash crop of the moon

When the solar wind, the rapid streamof charged particles emitted by the sun, strikes the moon, helium 3 isdeposited in the powdery soil. Over billions of years that adds up.
Meteoritebombardment disperses the particles throughout the top several meters ofthe lunar surface.

"Helium 3 could be the cash crop forthe moon," said Kulcinski, a longtime advocate and leading pioneer in thefield, who envisions the moon becoming "the Hudson Bay Store of Earth."Today helium 3 would have a cash value of $4 billion a ton in terms ofits energy equivalent in oil, he estimates. "When the moon becomes an independentcountry, it will have something to trade."

Fusion research began in 1951 in theUnited States under military auspices. After its declassification in 1957scientists began looking for a candidate fuel source that wouldn't produceneutrons. Although Louie Alvarez and Robert Cornog discovered helium 3in 1939, only a few hundred pounds (kilograms) were known to exist on Earth, most the by-product of nuclear-weapon production.

Apollo astronauts found helium 3 onthe moon in 1969, but the link between the isotope and lunar resourceswas not made until 1986. "It took 15 years for us [lunar geologists andfusion pioneers] to stumble across each other," said Schmitt, the lastastronaut to leave footprints on the moon.

For solving long-term energy needs, proponents contend helium 3 is a better choice than first generation nuclearfuels like deuterium and tritium (isotopes of hydrogen), which are nowbeing tested on a large scale worldwide in tokamak thermonuclear reactors.Such approaches, which generally use strong magnetic fields to containthe tremendously hot, electrically charged gas or plasma in which fusionoccurs, have cost billions and yielded little. The International ThermonuclearExperimental Reactor or ITER tokamak, for example, won't produce a singlewatt of electricity for several years yet.

Increases production and safety costs

"I don't doubt it will eventually work,"Kulcinski said. "But I have serious doubts it will ever provide an economicpower source on Earth or in space." That's because reactors that exploitthe fusion of deuterium and tritium release 80 percent of their energyin the form of radioactive neutrons, which exponentially increase productionand safety costs.
In contrast, helium 3 fusion wouldproduce little residual radioactivity. Helium 3, an isotope of the familiarhelium used to inflate balloons and blimps, has a nucleus with two protonsand one neutron. A nuclear reactor based on the fusion of helium 3 anddeuterium, which has a single nuclear proton and neutron, would producevery few neutrons -- about 1 percent of the number generated by the deuterium-tritiumreaction. "You could safely build a helium 3 plant in the middle of a bigcity," Kulcinski said.

Helium 3 fusion is also ideal for poweringspacecraft and interstellar travel. While offering the high performancepower of fusion -- "a classic Buck Rogers propulsion system" -- helium3 rockets would require less radioactive shielding, lightening the load, said Robert Frisbee, an advanced propulsion engineer at NASA's Jet PropulsionLaboratory in Pasadena California.

Recently Kulcinski's team reports progresstoward making helium 3 fusion possible. Inside a lab chamber, the Wisconsinresearchers have produced protons from a steady-state deuterium-helium3 plasma at a rate of 2.6 million reactions per second. That's fast enoughto produce fusion power but not churn out electricity. "It's proof of principle, but a long way from producing electricity or making a power source outof it," Kulcinski said. He will present the results in Amsterdam in midJuly at the Fourth International Conference on Exploration and Utilizationof the Moon.

Size of a basketball

The chamber, which is roughly the sizeof a basketball, relies on the electrostatic focusing of ions into a densecore by using a spherical grid, explained Wisconsin colleague John Santarius,a study co-author. With some refinement, such Inertial Electrostatic Confinement(IEC) fusion systems could produce high-energy neutrons and protons usefulin industry and medicine. For example, the technology could generate short-livedPET (positron emission tomography) isotopes on site at hospitals, enablingsafe brain scans of young children and even pregnant women. Portable IECdevices could bridge the gap between today's science-based research andthe ultimate goal of generating electricity, Santarius said.

This fall, the University of Wisconsinteam hopes to demonstrate a third-generation fusion reaction between helium3 and helium 3 particles in the lab. The reaction would be completely voidof radiation.

"Although helium 3 would be very exciting,"says Bryan Palaszewski, leader of advanced fuels at NASA Glenn ResearchCenter at Lewis Field, "first we have to go back to the moon and be capableof doing significant operations there."

Economically unfeasible

Indeed for now, the economics of extractingand transporting helium 3 from the moon are also problematic. Even if scientistssolved the physics of helium 3 fusion, "it would be economically unfeasible,"asserted Jim Benson, chairman of SpaceDev in Poway, California, which strivesto be one of the first commercial space-exploration companies. "UnlessI'm mistaken, you'd have to strip-mine large surfaces of the moon."

While it's true that to produce roughly70 tons of helium 3, for example, a million tons of lunar soil would needto be heated to 1,470 degrees Fahrenheit (800 degrees Celsius) to liberatethe gas, proponents say lunar strip mining is not the goal. "There's enoughin the Mare Tranquillitatis alone to last for several hundred years," Schmittsaid. The moon would be a stepping stone to other helium 3-rich sources, such as the atmospheres of Saturn and Uranus.
Benson agreed that finding fuel sourcesin space is the way to go. But for him, H2O and not helium 3 is the idealfuel source. His personal goal is to create gas stations in space by miningasteroids for water. The water can be electrolyzed into hydrogen or oxygenfuel or used straight as a propellant by superheating with solar arrays."Water is more practical and believable in the short run," he said.

But proponents believe only helium3 can pay its own way.

"Water just isn't that valuable," Schmittsaid. Besides the helium, a mining process would produce water and oxygenas by-products, he says.

Google censors anti-satellite test graphic

Internet search engine company Google has self-censored a graphic produced by three MIT researchers showing the trajectory and impact of China’s Jan. 11 anti-satellite test. Google excluded the graphic in an apparent attempt to avoid angering Chinese officials, U.S. officials said.

Google has been criticized in the past for appeasing the Chinese government in its search engine postings.

Three MIT researchers produced a color graphic [ZOOM] showing the flight path of the missile that destroyed an orbiting Chinese weather satellite by ramming it with a non-explosive warhead, officials said. MIT.edu

According to officials, three MIT researchers, Geoff Forden, Ted Postol and Subrata Ghoshroy, produced a color graphic showing the flight path of the missile that destroyed an orbiting Chinese weather satellite by ramming it with a non-explosive warhead. The researchers said the test proved that China is “part of the small but unfortunately growing club of countries that can accomplish the difficult task of hypervelocity interceptions in space.”

“As a signal to the world, this test highlighted both China’s technological prowess and the fact that China will not quietly stand by while the United States tries to expand its influence in the region with new measures such as the US-India nuclear deal,” the MIT researchers stated.

“We have analyzed the orbits of the debris from this interception and from that put limits on the properties of the interceptor,” they stated. “We find that not only can China threaten low-Earth orbit satellites but, by mounting the same interceptor on one of its rockets capable of lofting a satellite into geostationary orbit, all of the U.S. communications satellites.”

Google removed the graphic from its service.

Google censorship is software-based. A Chinese-based Google search of Tiananmen Square often produces images of attractive buildings and smiling tourists, while American Google searchers will see photos of Chinese tanks used to disperse pro-democracy protestors in 1989.

Last year, Google's senior policy counsel, Andrew McLaughlin, defended the censorship saying the company sought to balance commitments ''to satisfy the interests of users, expand access to information, and respond to local conditions."

''While removing search results is inconsistent with Google's mission," McLaughlin said in an email statement to the Associated Press, ''providing no information (or a heavily degraded user experience that amounts to no information) is more inconsistent with our mission."

371-year-old Harvard gets first woman boss

Drew Gilpin Faust recalls her mother lecturing her that “this is a man's world, sweetie, and the sooner you learn that, the better off you'll be.”

It was a lesson she apparently never learned: Harvard University on Sunday named Ms. Faust the first woman president in the school's 371-year history.

“I hope that my own appointment can be one symbol of an opening of opportunities that would have been inconceivable even a generation ago,” Ms. Faust said. But she also added, “I'm not the woman president of Harvard, I'm the president of Harvard.”

A Civil War scholar and respected university insider, Ms. Faust, 59, emerged as a candidate considered by the school's governing body to be best suited to cool tensions within the faculty after the tumultuous five-year presidency of Lawrence Summers.

Two years ago, Mr. Summers created an uproar when he said that genetic gender differences may explain why few women rise to top science jobs. At the height of the controversy, Ms. Faust oversaw two panels that examined gender diversity on campus.

She has been dean of the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study since 2001, two years after the former women's college merged into Harvard as a research centre with a mission to study gender issues.

Ms. Faust was elected by the seven-member Harvard Corporation, the school's governing body, and ratified by the 30-member Board of Overseers.

With Ms. Faust's appointment, half of the eight Ivy League schools have woman presidents. The other three are Amy Gutmann of the University of Pennsylvania, Shirley M. Tilghman of Princeton University, and Ruth J. Simmons of Brown University.

Ms. Faust pivots from managing Radcliffe, a think-tank with 87 employees and a $17-million (U.S.) budget, to presiding over Harvard's 11 schools and colleges, 24,000 employees and a budget of $3-billion.

“She will need to scale up and she's shown all the qualities that suggest she'll do that superbly,” Ms. Gutmann said.

Lydia Barlow, a 26-year-old graduate student of Middle Eastern studies, said Ms. Faust is “going to have to be outstanding” because “people see it as a knee-jerk reaction to the comments made by president Summers.”

But Robert Reischauer, a corporation member, disagreed.

“All the reports have been ‘gender, gender, gender,' and I'm thinking to myself ‘isn't that funny? That has not been something we've talked about at all,'” he said.

In Ms. Faust, Harvard not only has its first woman leader, but a president who has candidly discussed her feminist ideals in a memoir, Shapers of Southern History: Autobiographical Reflections. In it, she recalled her mother's advice about a “man's world.”

Born Catherine Gilpin to a privileged family in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley, Ms. Faust recalls a conversation with the family's black handyman and driver that inspired her to send a letter — written in block letters on school notebook paper — to former U.S. president Dwight Eisenhower pleading for desegregation.

Ms. Faust joins an exclusive roster of Harvard presidents that has included colonial clergymen, Bay State patricians and a cabinet secretary.

Interim president Derek Bok will serve until July 1, when Ms. Faust takes over.

Ms. Faust becomes the first president without a Harvard degree since Charles Chauncy, an alumnus of Cambridge University, who died in office in 1672. She attended Bryn Mawr College and the University of Pennsylvania, where she was also a professor of Southern history.

“Faculty turned to her constantly as someone whose opinion is to be trusted,” said Shelton Hackney, a former president of the University of Pennsylvania and a Southern historian. “She's very clear, well-organized. She has a sense of humour, but she's very even-keeled. You come to trust in her because she's so solid.”

The Harvard presidency is perhaps the most prestigious job in higher education, offering an academic pulpit and unparalleled resources — a university endowment valued at nearly $30-billion.

But the job also comes with sharp scrutiny from a distinguished faculty and relentless pressure to meet fundraising benchmarks.

Mr. Summers often stumbled in maintaining a diplomatic balance with the school's disparate factions. Displeasure with what many professors called a brusque management style ultimately led to a no confidence vote from faculty last February.

“I believe Faust will bring dignity and honour back to Harvard,” said Harry Lewis, a former Harvard dean who wrote a book that criticized the school for coddling students.

Lyrics

"Wind It Up"

High on the hills with the lonely goatherd, lay-od-lay-od-lay-he-hoo
Yodell back with the girl and goatherd, lay-od-lay-od-low

Wind it up
Wind it up, uh, uh, uh, uh
Yodellay, yodallay, yodal-low

(Yeah)
This is the key that makes us wind up
When the beat comes on, the girls all line up
And the boys all look, but no, they can't touch
But the girls want to know why the boys like us so much

They like way we dance, they like the way we work
They like the way the L.A.M.B. is going 'cross my shirt
They like the way my pants, it compliments my shape (She's crazy, right?)
They like the way we react everytime we dance

Everytime the bass bangs, realize it calls your name
Let the beat wind you up, and don't stop till your time is up
Get in line now

Wind it up, uh, uh, uh, uh
Wind it up, uh, uh, uh, uh
Yodellay, yodallay, yodal-low

You've got to let the beat get under your skin
You've got to open up, and let it all in
But see, once it gets in, the poppin' begins
And then you find out, why all the boys stare

They're trying to bite our style
Trying to study our approach
They like the way we do it, so original
I guess that they are slow, so they should leave the room
This beat is for the clubs, and cars that go

Everytime the bass bangs, realize it calls your name
Let the beat wind you up, and don't stop till your time is up
Get in line now

Uh, uh, uh, wind it up, uh, uh, uh, uh
(Ya'll ready)

Wind it up, uh, uh, uh, uh
Wind it up, uh, uh, uh, uh
Yodellay, yodallay, yodal-low

Uh huh, it's your moment
Uh huh, come on girl, you know you own it
Uh huh, you know your key is still tick-tockin'
Hell yeah, and you know they're watchin'

Get it girl, get it, get it girl
Get it girl, get it, get it girl
To the front, to the side,
To the back, but don't let him ride

Keep goin' girl, it's your night
Don't let him steal your light
I know he thinks you're fine and stuff
But does he know how to wind you up?
(Come on)

Wind it up, uh, uh, uh, uh
Wind it up, uh, uh, uh, uh
Yodellay, yodallay, yodal-low, hey!

Now's the time to stop using passwords - Bill Gates

For years, Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates has said that passwords are the weak link in the computer security chain. For years also he has called on computer users to move away from passwords to smart cards or other authentication methods.

Gates did it again on Tuesday as he kicked off this year's RSA Conference in San Francisco. "Passwords are not only weak, passwords have the huge problem that if you get more and more of them, the worse it is," Gates said.

The time is now really right to do away with passwords, according to Gates.

In Vista, Microsoft introduced Windows CardSpace for consumers to use instead of passwords. CardSpace is an application that is meant to represent an individual's wallet with different cards to use for identification in online transactions.

For businesses Microsoft plans to release Identity Lifecycle Manager 2007 in May and has other products as well. "We think this is the milestone where enterprises should start the migration from passwords to smart cards," Gates said.

-------------------------

As he retires from his full-time job at Microsoft, Chairman Bill Gates is also retiring from his speaking stint at the start of the RSA Conference, an annual security industry confab.

Gates is handing the stick to Craig Mundie, Microsoft's chief research and strategy officer, who will take overall responsibility for security at the software maker.

"I want to thank Bill for his leadership in this as he goes off next year for full time with the foundation," Mundie said at the end of a joint keynote speech with Gates here on Tuesday. "I will be back for sure next year at this conference because I intend to continue to be the patron of security and trustworthy computing at Microsoft."

Gates first delivered the opening keynote speech at the RSA Conference in 2004, and his appearance has become an annual affair. The speeches became a public display of Microsoft's focus on security since Gates' "Trustworthy Computing" memo in 2002.
